Informationen

The "Haus zum alten Kameeltier" (House of the old Camel) is a residence and business built in the Middle Ages. It was already mentioned in the year 1407 and has always owned by craftsmen.

The house belongs, (since 1806), to the candle and soap making family Blattmann-Köbele.

The bombs of 1944 left the building undamaged. It's basement belongs to one of Freiburg's oldest constructions and the facade was built in the Middle Ages.

Around 1710, the building front was decorated with lavish Baroque plaster moldings. Very few examples of this type of decoration remain.
